Our Story
how'd you meet?
THREE questions we've been
asked on repeat over and over again...when people ask, our standard (and honest) response is; every Ukrainian knows every other Ukrainian in the U.S. it's not hard for us to spot or bump into a fellow slav. Inna (the true Ukrainian) was born in the city of Rivne and grew up in WESTFIELD, Massachusetts. Mark was born in PARMA, Ohio. New England and the Midwest became intertwined by a church youth trip. THE DAY was March 31, 2012...the rest was History...
you've been together
for how long?!
HISTORY, and a very long one indeed. church youth trips turned to visits, and visits turned into trips to go Snowboarding, Hiking, Boating, and wherever our travels would take us. slowly over the years we GREW CLOSER AND CLOSER to each other... geographically too! mark moved to DC to work on the Hill, Inna moved to SCRANTON, PA to get her Masters Degree then moved again to MIDDLETOWN, NY for Medical School. Long Distance made our hearts grow fonder and Long Dating made them grow even fonder(er)...
when are you gonna
finally propose?!
GOOD THINGS come to those who wait. and waited we did...and then THE TIME WAS RIGHT. doing the thing we love most, we took a snowboard trip to WHISTLER, CANADA. we took the 7TH HEAVEN express lift, snowboarded halfway down the CLOUD NINE trail (both by pure serendipity), Mark got down on ONE KNEE IN THE SNOW, Inna didn't know what was coming, Mark asked for Inna's hand in marriage, Inna SAID YES! the day was December 19, 2021...a day 11 Years, 3 Months, and 8 Days in the making.

The Venue
Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the 1774 Inn is intimately connected to the industrial and political history of the state of Maine, and the founding of the United States.
James McCobb, a lumber enterpriser arrived in 1731 from Ireland and purchased the greater part of Phippsburg from Native Americans. In 1774 he built the Georgian style mansion for his second wife.
When James's son, Thomas returned from a sea voyage, he discovered that his stepbrother, Mark Landgon Hill, transferred the home to his name and Thomas retaliated by building a larger, more ornate "Spite House" nearby. The stepbrothers however did not feud for long and became partners in shipbuilding and in 1925, Thomas relocated his "Spite House" by barge to Rockport where it remains today. Mark Hill was later elected as one of Maine's first Congressmen in 1821.
